iPhone Homeschooling – ‘Fairy Tales’

‘Fairy Tales’ is an app presented by iFlow.  iFlow is a digital reader, and you can add several books to it.  Each book is an individually downloaded application.  This particular app is for Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales.  You can also download Grimm’s Fairy Tales (both of these are free), and then there are several other .99 selections, such as ‘Children’s Classics.’

Obviously, having a FREE, portable, “book” of fairy tales with me at all times is rather handy.  All of my kids are still learning fairy tales, and this is another way to kill off boredom while waiting in offices and long lines.  Not having to lug a big book around the house all the time is great, too!  As far as I can tell, this app holds ALL of H.C. Andersen’s fairy tales.  Seriously.

The first page shows which book you are reading from, and you can see at the bottom there is a link to show more downloadable titles.

You can select the chapter button at the bottom of the screen to select the story you are interested in reading.

Chapters are listed alphabetically and are very easy to find.

You can double tap on the screen to get rid of the menu for easier reading.  Just double tap again to bring it back up.

There is a lot of content in the help section to get you started.

And changing the settings is a breeze!

This app gets 4 out of 5 stars from me.  The only thing lacking is the ability to turn the iPhone sideways to read with the screen in the horizontal position.  I am looking forward to downloading more content and taking good literature everywhere we go!
