I am now a co-leader for “art club” here in the Vegas valley. It’s a combined monthly activity with two homeschool groups. On Monday I led my first art class on Gustav Klimt. There were tons of kids! It was definitely the biggest class I have ever led. It was a great mix of ages and abilities, and I think everyone had a good time.
We talked a little bit about Klimt, his family life, and his art style and inspiration. After the educational portion, the kids made their own “Klimt” art. I used the project idea from Art Projects For Kids (of course) and they turned out great! If anyone from the class wants to scan and email me your child’s art, I will add it to this post. It was so fun and I am excited to see what Pru comes up with for art club next month.
Here are some pics of me being a ham, and the group listening and getting busy with their art (thanks Amanda for the photos!):
Someone made a “mistake” on her drawing and then didn’t want to finish. She eventually decided she could fix it and finished a great project!
