I am so excited about our little Robin nest in the front yard. Today was the first day I’ve been able to take a picture since Friday, when I noted there were three eggs. Mama Robin must have laid another on Saturday because I have four now, and incubation has begun.
I cannot wait until these little darlings hatch. We have learned a lot about how robins make their nests, and how much baby robins can consume in a day. This blew my mind -
Professor Treadwell experimented with young robins and found that each would take 68 earthworms daily; these worms if laid end to end would measure about 14 feet.
~ Anna Botsford Comstock in The Handbook of Nature Study
Can you imagine that? Hopefully we will be posting pictures of baby robins sometime next week!

How beautiful. I sure hope we get this lucky. I have been scouring my yard year after year to find a nest to observe.
We have so many species of birds indigenious to our area that we are amazed everyday that we spend time outdoors.
Can’t wait to see more pics.
