Be Mine?

We all know Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. I typically love this day. The valentine cards, the candy, the feeling of being loved. Until I met Lonnie, I was always single on Valentine’s day, so it’s not all about romantic love for me. My mom always made us a little card and gave us a heart box of chocolates. We always made her a valentine as well. I loved getting the cards at school, and just generally expressing love for people at large. I hope my kids can get the same sense of loving each other that it’s always meant for me.

Anyway, here is a peep at our valentine making for 2008. I made the mistake of signing up for a homeschool valentine exchange organized on myspace. We ended up making 60+ valentine’s for total strangers. It’s a good idea, perhaps, but next year we will be keeping the card making to our nearest and dearest friends, and maybe just our little homeschool co-op. Although, that being said, they have gotten cards from all over the USA, and they are really enjoying the mail they are getting daily. We have learned quite a bit of geography from locating where all the cards are coming from. Never a moment to educate lost! -)

The final cards were hole punched and threaded with yarn. They were super cute, and I forgot to snap a picture!
