We played “rearrange connection” today for the first time. I have had the board and pieces ready for ages and we just haven’t gotten around to playing it. Super-boy and I played twice, since I won the first time, and he needed a chance to redeem himself.
Math-U-See is really paying off because he was able to recognize the numbers very quickly. Neither of us felt like doing a math sheet today so this was a nice break. I give this game two thumbs up!
Diva was feeling left out, although I tried to include her as much as I could. I had her find cards for me and place my games pieces on the board, but that still wasn’t good enough. So, I hunted down a game I could play with her: alphabet dominos! I need to glue the pages to some cardboard to make them stronger and I will also color them, but it looks too cute. Hopefully she will enjoy it.
I also decided to post another PE game from my book.
One-on-one Flag Football
Football Skills: kicking, catching, fleeing, and “tackling” (flag pulling)
Number of players: 2
Suggested age level: 6-13
Equipment: 1 football, 4 cones (or objects to mark goal areas), 1 kicking tee (or the ball can be punted), 2 flags or handkerchiefs
How to play: Mark off a field area with goals at each end. A player starts at each goal line with a flag tucked into the back of his belt (hanging down and easy to pull). One of the two players is designated to kick off first and the other starts as the receiver.
The kicker begins the game by kicking the football toward the receiver. The objective of the receiving player is to catch and run with the ball past the opposite goal line without having his flag pulled by the kicking player. If successful, a touchdown (worth 6 points) is scored for the receiver. No points are awarded if the player’s flag is pulled. The players switch roles after each play.
The player with the most points at the end of the designated time wins. Additional players can be added to each team.

Looks like fun. I’ll have to try this with the kids.
How wonderful!! Having so much fun and learning all at the same time. Before you know it you’ll have to find a game to include Miss Zoey in. *grin*
