Crab Soccer

As promised, I am finally posting a PE game geared for homeschool families!

Crab Soccer is essentially one-on-one soccer with the players moving in a crab position rather than being upright. The players still need to kick, dribble, play defense, etc. This is an excellent way to build upper body strength!

Number of players: 2 players (play multiple games simultaneously for larger-sized groups)

Suggested age level: 6-13 years of age

Equipment: 1 soccer ball, 4 cones (or some type of object to mark off goals)

Two cones (or objects) are placed 10 feet apart at each end to represent the goals. The length of the playing area should be approximately 30-40 feet. One player begins by kicking off in the middle. The objective is to advance the ball toward the opponent’s goal and score by kicking the ball between the cones. The defensive player can steal the ball at any time. After each score, a kick off occurs in the middle of the playing area.

Variation: Consider playing with two players on a team.

This game is from “The Ultimate Homeschool Physical Education Game Book” by Guy Bailey.
